Darrell Steinberg is the new mayor of Sacramento, California.
He has pledged to grow the city's arts and culture community.
The Creative Edge Plan, adopted by the Sacramento City Council in 2018, put forward six core goals.
Steinberg's first goal is to provide arts education for local children and youth, supporters say.
The city's character has evolved from a stodgy government town to something notably vibrant.
