A mural in downtown St.
Charles, Ill., pays tribute to a teen who died too young, the Daily Herald reports.
"Be Kind, Pass It On" reads the new mural, which was created by local artist Catherine Tilly.
It was commissioned by Kendall's Kindness, a local nonprofit started in honor of Kendall Maffia, who died at the age of 14 after running a lemonade stand.
Her mother says the idea for the mural came from her daughter's love for butterflies.
Tilly often works with at-risk youth, and the Maffias helped her incorporate Kendall's drawings and journals into the mural.
