Six Japanese youngsters from the city of Minami-Alps, Yamanashi Prefecture, have been immersing themselves in the sights and sounds of central Iowa and getting to know their American host families in the Sister Cities of Marshalltown program.
The alternating trips one year, the Japanese students ages 12 and 13 would visit Marshalltown, and the other, the Iowans would head to Japan.
