A popular Ghanaian TV series that has been viewed more than 5 million times on YouTube has been nominated for an Emmy, the BBC reports.
The award-winning series, You Only Live Once, tells the stories of young Ghanaians as they deal with issues such as health, gender, social, and cultural, as well as the challenges and successes of their everyday lives.
The show has been a hit on social media and TV in Ghana, as well as in the US, where it took center stage at the USAID Creative Bridges Youth Conference in Washington, DC, according to a press release.
The award-winning series has been produced by Farmhouse Productions and stars Akosua Asiedua Asare-Brewu, who spoke at the conference.
"By working together and harnessing the creativity, leadership, and innovative insights of youth, we can cultivate civic-engaged ecosystems, build a brighter future for all and eradicate period poverty," she said.
