It's time for the world to " harness the power of entrepreneurship and innovation" to solve some of the world's biggest problems, according to a declaration adopted at the World Investment Forum in Bahrain on Tuesday.
The declaration, which will be presented to the UN General Assembly, calls on governments, the private sector, the media, and international organizations to work together to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, promote entrepreneurship as the driver of innovation, and create innovative ecosystems that will help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2050, the BBC reports.
According to a press release, the declaration stresses the importance of women in entrepreneurship, youth, and families with children, and calls for a "strong emphasis on including women, youth, persons with disabilities, and families" in efforts to achieve the goals.
It also calls for more investment in research and development and for more inclusive policies that help people with disabilities.
