That's the vision of the country's president, Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, in a speech at the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network Global Conference 2024 in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The New York Times reports the conference is the first of its kind in West Asia, and it's designed to bring together social investors, philanthropists, corporations, policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to work toward "greater collaborative action for accelerating impact."
Per the Alliance for Philanthropic Reform, nearly 80% of the world's population and 80% of its youth are in Africa and Asia, and $26 trillion is expected to be transferred across generations over the next 20 years.
"The UAE has emerged as a beacon of hope," Sheikh Mohamed says in his speech.
