The Washington, DC, area's poet laureate has announced the winners of a competition that takes poetry on the go.
The nine winners of the 25th annual Moving Words contest will each receive a $250 honorarium and their poems will be displayed on Arlington County's ARTbuses from March through September 2024, the Washington Post reports.
The winning poems, which must be less than 10 lines in length, are printed on colorful placards and displayed prominently on the buses, Arlington County CommuterPage.com reports.
Arlington's Poet Laureate, Courtney LeBlanc, chose the winners from among more than 100 submissions.
