Yale students were among thousands of people in New York City last week for Climate Week, an international event meant to raise awareness about climate change and its effects.
The week-long series of panels and events, which ran from Sept.
17 to Sept.
24, was organized by Climate Group, an international nonprofit that works with government leaders and businesses to address environmental issues, reports the New York Daily News.
One of the Yale students who attended the events, Caroline Benedetti, says they helped make climate change feel approachable.
"One of the biggest issues with the climate crisis and climate communication is that it can be something that feels overwhelming to people," she says.
"Internationalized programs like Climate Week really help make it feel more accessible."
