Sanwo-Olu sets Sail Abiru's innovation project for youth empowerment, entrepreneurship

A lawmaker in Nigeria has opened an innovation lab in an effort to turn around the country's youth, the Guardian reports.

Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, a senator from Lagos East, says the lab, called the Senator Abiru Innovation Laboratory (SAIL), is his way of giving back to the society and ensuring that young Nigerians are productively engaged.

"As bad as the global economic outlook is, there are still jobs out there, noting that the challenge is many do not have the requisite skills to do the jobs," he says.

"The challenge is only that many don't have the skills to do these jobs."

So far, more than 1,000 young Nigerians have been trained at the lab, Abiru says.

"Once you finish your training here, we hand you over to Microsoft and Meta," he adds. Read the Entire Article
