UTEC, a Lowell youth organization, has been awarded a two-year $700,000 state grant to build a training center to prevent gun violence among youth and young adults.
The grant, provided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, will establish a training center to work with 10 neighborhood organizations in areas with high rates of gun violence.
UTEC will train organizations on how to effectviely provide mentoring and coaching, behavioral health services, street outreach, and workforce development.
10 organizations recently received their own grants to address gun violence, which include New North Citizens Council in Springfield, Roca in Springfield, and Worcester Youth Center. Each of these organizations received $800,000. Read the Entire Article
