In 1994, Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare awarded a $2,100 grant to the Latah Countyducation network to help fund a county-wide peer education project.
Twenty years later, that project is still going strong, the Spokesman-Review reports.
The idea is to educate students about HIV, AIDS, and sexually transmitted diseases through drama and art.
"Our goal is to save lives by changing attitudes and behavior among youth at risk," says a co-applicant of the peer education project.
The project will include all six high schools in the county, Potlatch, Kendrick-Juliaetta, Deary, Troy, Moscow, and Genesee.
