Taylor Decker's GPA is 3.80, she's on her way to a degree in elementary education, and she's just been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Bee Line Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Charles Town resident is one of three high school seniors in West Virginia to receive the honor this year, the Herald-Mail reports.
The other two are Justin Gottlieb of Jefferson County, who's studying ROTC at Columbia University in New York City, and Olivia Jenkins of Nicholas County, who's studying public health at Towson University in Maryland.
"Their hard work and dedication to their educational goals and to their larger communities serve as inspirational examples to others," the Bee Line chapter said in a statement.
