A Houston nonprofit theater is getting a big boost from an unlikely source: the oil and gas company Enbridge.
The Houston Chronicle reports the Ensemble Theatre received a $10,000 grant from Enbridge in 2023 to fund a production of A Motown Christmas.
"We sent out a survey after that show, which was months ago now, and we are still getting responses," says Donald Mason, the theater's managing director.
"The energy was really specialpeople were holding back their claps and snaps."
The donation is in addition to more than 40 years of support from Enbridge.
