Michigan's Four County Community Foundation has handed out more than $600,000 in scholarship funds to high school seniors and current college students this year, nearly twice as much as the amount handed out in 2023.
The scholarships are awarded by the foundation's board of trustees and are open to students studying business, engineering, information technology, animal medical health fields, natural sciences, or vocational/technical training at an accredited trade school, college, or university, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The scholarships are partially funded by donations.
"Our scholarship donors are funding tuition for students who have great ambitions," the foundation's director says.
