Women's health is a hot-button topic in the UK, and a group at London's Dyson School of Design is hoping to change that.
The Dyson School of Design's Women's Health of Network Excellence hosted a two-day " hackathon" last week, where students from a variety of fields came up with solutions for women's health issues, such as stroke risk, brain and mental health, and reproductive health, reports the Telegraph.
"This event is truly an example of why we learned up the networkto create opportunities for students and staff from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to come together and brainstorm ideas to improve the health of women and girls," says Dr. Carinna Hock, who runs the network.
Among the winning solutions: an app to help new moms manage hot flushes and a device to monitor menstrual symptoms.
