Missouri's Department of Economic Development has announced the 37 organizations that will receive a total of $6 million in state tax credits through its Youth Opportunities Program, the Kansas City Star reports.
The tax credit program provides partial state tax credits to businesses and individuals who make contributions to youth development or crime prevention projects.
Projects can include degree completion, internships and apprenticeships, mentoring, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, counseling, and more.
"We're proud to assist organizations that provide critical services to Missourians through the Youth Opportunities Program," Gov.
Mike Parson says in a press release.
"Recipient's of this program are putting funds to good use by implementing projects that make lasting, positive differences for youth statewide."
