If you've got a child between the ages of 12 and 15 who wants to get away from home for a few weeks this summer, Boise, Idaho, may have just the program for you.
The city's police department is offering a free, three-week summer youth program called SHIELD, which stands for Success, Helping, Innovation, Empowerment, Leadership, and Discovery, the Idaho Statesman reports.
The program, which runs from Monday to Thursday at Timberline High School, features hiking at Table Rock, tours of JUMP, the Idaho Black History Museum, and Boise State University, as well as team-building exercises, guest speakers, and goal-setting and leadership development, per the department's website.
