If you're an electric car driver in the UK, you're in for a treat: A team of students from the University of Bristol and a company called Roadchef have come up with ideas for a "service station of the future" that could help you charge up your electric vehicle, the BBC reports.
The idea is to use the "kinetic energy" of children's play equipment, as well as solar power, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality to create a station that's not only environmentally friendly, but also comfortable for drivers, the Guardian reports.
One idea is to use turnstiles in the shape of wind turbines to generate energy for electric car charging.
"One of the really interesting ideas was to use turnstiles in the shape of wind turbines," says Roadchef's project director.
"The pushing motion could generate electricity to store in batteries, power coffee machines, or redeploy to electric vehicles."
