Canada's Conservative government has unveiled a plan to make it easier for young people to start their own businesses, the Globe and Mail reports.

According to the government's budget for 2024, which was released Tuesday, the federal government will spend C$500 million (USD $400 million) over four years to help young people start and grow businesses.

The money will go to initiatives such as mentorship programs, entrepreneurship training, and more, the government says in a press release.

"We want to make it easier for young people to start, own, and grow businesses," says Minister of Economic Development Filomena Tassi.

"By helping young people start, own, and grow businesses, we can also help middle-class Canadians get a fair shot at a good middle-class life."

According to the budget, the government will also spend C$500 million over four years to improve roads, bridges, and other infrastructure in Canada's rural and remote areas.
