People Are Awesome: Web Series about Dickerson Park Zoo Wins Awards

A Missouri State University student has won an Emmy for his behind-the-scenes look at a Springfield zoo, the Springfield News-Leader reports.

Jon Mabee taught film and television students to film an episode of Discovering Dickerson Park Zoo for the National Academy of Television Arts & Science.

They spent three weeks filming at the zoo in 2023.

The episode, Medicine Dickerson Park Zoo, won a Student Emmy for best college non-fiction long form.

It also won second place in the video documentary category from the Missouri Broadcast Education Association. Read the Entire Article
