This partnership brings together LSUHS psychiatry and behavioral medicine physicians along with VOANLA's behavioral health clinicians and counselors to offer early intervention and first-episode psychosis treatment.
The program uses a collaborative approach to help youth and adults suffering from psychosis and offers patients and families grappling with the condition a pathway toward recovery.
"EpiCenter is the first and only center in northwest Louisiana that aims to bring awareness and care to individuals experiencing their first psychotic episode," says Carolyn Hammond, president and CEO of VOANLA.
The program includes psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, individual, group, and family education, case management, and supported employment and education resources.
