When the residents of Oakwood Creative Care in Mesa, Ariz., are faced with cognitive or physical challenges, they often don't have much in the way of outdoor space to get outside and connect with others.
That's where a group of local business leaders is hoping to change that.
Mesa Leadership Class of 2024 is hosting a fundraiser on Jan.
26 to help build an outdoor patio area at the nonprofit facility, which provides support and daytime care for seniors with neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's and stroke, reports the Arizona Digital Free Press.
"We believe in the shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults and their families," says a press release.
"Your support will play a pivotal role in making a significant difference to bringing comfort and joy to those in need within our community."
