Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County has been awarded a $315,000 grant from Bank of America to expand its mentoring program, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The mentoring program is designed to help high school students who are at risk of dropping out get their foot in the door in the workforce.
The grants are part of the bank's Neighborhood Champion program, which donates millions of dollars a year to community nonprofits.
"This grant will allow us to do more of what we do best, which is mentor high school students who are at risk of dropping out of high school," says the executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County.
