"It's a great team building event and a fun way for the company to give back to the local community."
That's how Associa Chicagoland President Michael Zalas describes his team's recent volunteering effort with Chicago's Nourishing Hope Food Pantry.
As part of the real estate management company's annual Great Giveback event, Associa employees worked with the food pantry to sort and package food for delivery to individuals and families in need, per a press release.
This was the second time team members had volunteered with Nourishing Hope, which "Eliminates hunger and poverty by providing food to fill the basic need of hungry people, empowering clients to gain independence through innovative social service programs, raising awareness of hunger and poverty and working towards solutions to eliminate them," per the nonprofit's website.
As one of Chicago's largest and longest-operating food pantries, Nourishing Hope's mission is to eliminate hunger and poverty by providing food to fill the basic need of hungry people, empowering clients to gain independence through innovative social service programs, raising awareness of hunger and poverty, and working towards solutions to eliminate them.
