Edward Darby Nye Jr., better known as the man who taught the world about science, has died at the age of 56, the New York Daily News reports.
Nye, who was born in a small town in Pennsylvania and went on to make a name for himself as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and environmental advocate, died in his sleep at his home in West Palm Beach, Fla., the Palm Beach Post reports.
The cause of his death hasn't been revealed.
