North Carolina Gov.
Roy Cooper has announced five grants totaling more than $1.38 million to support new jobs and millions of economic investment in the state.
One of the grants is $75,000 to Mountain Valley, a hospice and palliative care organization serving 18 counties in North Carolina and Virginia.
The nonprofit will use the grant to repurpose a 1,684-square-foot building in Yadkinville into a new hospice office, which is expected to create eight new jobs and a $133,337 investment, per the governor's office.
Mountain Valley currently operates the SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville, which is in close proximity to the new hospice office.
"We are excited about this new office," Jan Bullard, Mountain Valley's VP of marketing, says in a press release.
"It represents our continued commitment to our missioncreating the best experience for every patient, every family, every time."
