His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, has donated $1 million to help students pursue higher education.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Knowledge Foundation made the announcement in a press release, saying the donation is in line with the UAE's efforts to "protect the environment and the rich knowledge heritage of the UAE."
The release noted that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Knowledge Foundation "takes a leading position in this field by assisting schools and universities domestically and abroad in creating cutting-edge educational curricula that instill sustainability values in the youth, promote environmental awareness, and foster critical and creative thinking."
The release noted that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Knowledge Foundation also provides scholarships for Arab and UAE students who aspire to complete their postgraduate degrees at the University of Oxford.
