Cfov Concludes Another Successful Community Leader Internship Program

A college student in West Virginia got a taste of what it's like to work in the real world this summer thanks to an internship program in the Ohio Valley.

The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, which has been running the Community Leader Internship Program since 2013, placed 15 students from the region's home countiesHancock, Brooke, Marshall, Tyler, or Wetzel counties in West Virginia, or Belmont or Jefferson counties in Ohioat businesses and organizations during a seven-week program that included tours and activities at the foundation's headquarters in Wheeling, W.Va., the Herald-Dispatch reports.

"The goal of the program is to change the mindset of upcoming college graduates and demonstrate that possibilities do exist to 'work here, live here, and be here,'" says the foundation's executive director.

"Things are happening all around us that demonstrate well-rounded success is possible here."
