Edtech Startup Raising Superstars Bags Funding To Enable Children'S Early Stage Brain ...

Children's brains start developing even before the birth, and a new funding round shows just how big the potential is in India.

Per Inc., a startup called Superstars has received $2 million in funding from BLinC Invest, bringing the total amount raised by the Mumbai-based early childhood education company to $9 million.

"Our research shows that the activities created by Superstars for early brain development are deeply engaging and will contribute to the student's future success in school, the workplace, and beyond," says Amit Ratanpal, the founder of BLinC Invest.

The company, founded by Raghav Himatsingka and Shraddha Himatsingka, offers educational videos to engage young children with activities that help them develop "a foundation for a child's brain to grow, learn, and thrive," the founders say, per the Times of India.

India's National Education Policy 2020 notes that by the age of 6, more than 85% of a child's brain development occurs.

"This indicates the critical importance of appropriate care and stimulation of the brain during this period, to ensure healthy brain development and growth," the founders say.

The funding comes as the Indian edtech market is estimated to reach $29 billion with more than 100
