La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, is getting a boost from the government of Australia, specifically, the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations, in the form of more than $1 million in grants to fund a mentoring program for Chinese and international students, the BBC reports.

The National Foundation for Australia-China Relations was created in 2020 to "strengthen understanding and engagement between Australia and China under Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade," according to a press release from La Trobe.

The new program, called the Chinese International Student Experiential Learning Ecosystem, is designed to give Chinese and international students "the practical application of their studies and the gaining of experience in an entrepreneurial setting, along with establishing ongoing industry connections," the release states.

The idea is for students to "identify challenges, offer impactful solutions, and implement their skills in a commercial context, increasing their understanding of the multitude of dynamic factors that real-world strategies must endure and overcome," says Dr.

Stacey Farraway, deputy VP of Future Growth at La Trobe.

The grants will fund the program, which is scheduled to start in late 2023. Read the Entire Article
