300,000 Currently Benefitting From NSIP In Gombe

President Muhammadu Buhari's government is working hard to lift hundreds of young people out of poverty in the country, the Guardian reports.

According to the country's National Social Investment Program, more than 300 young people in Gombe State have been lifted out of poverty since the Buhari-led administration took office in May this year.

NSIP's Focal Person in Gombe, Habu Shinga, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday that 228,646 pupils and 3,073 vendors have so far been lifted out of poverty through the national home-grown school feeding program, NPower program, Conditional Cash Transfer, rural women cash grants and the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program.

Shinga said the programs had also helped Nigerians address the challenges of credit and financial inclusion for millions at the grassroots.

He said the NSIP was complementing the efforts of Gov. Inuwa Yahaya-led administration in terms of poverty alleviation and empowerment of youths across the state. Read the Entire Article
