Pittsfield Community Connection (PCC) forged a partnership with New England Newspapers Inc. as a way to help teens in the area. PCC Executive Director Jon Schnauber indicated that there is a population of young people who are providers for their families. The group is working to mentor youth and provide jobs in the area as a means of violence prevention.
PCC teamed with Berkshire Eagle to offer opportunities to kids in the program to market and sell the paper for cash for themselves or funds for the organization. PCC is involved in a number of partnerships for youths volunteering in humanitarian and social projects as well as support programs such as mentoring and training for the young members of the community.
